John Engerman’s journey as a builder began with a simple yet profound moment—a DeWalt Radial Arm Saw gifted to him by his father during high school. This sparked a fascination with woodworking and creating that would define his career. From crafting furniture to pursuing a degree in Light Building Construction at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, John’s dedication to quality, innovation, and tangible results has shaped Engerman Contracting into a trusted name in custom home building.

John Engerman himself has been in the home construction business, serving Lake Geneva and its surrounding areas for over 40 years. Custom house on a newly purchased lot

Engerman Contracting built our custom house on a newly purchased lot. It was the first time either my husband or I have had a new house built. It was actually a very good experience despite all the horror stories we heard about the process of building a house. John Engerman, his assistant Linda and right hand man Derek were there for us every step of the process. They basically walked us through everything from beginning to end. Although we were residing in the Chicago area throughout the process, they kept in constant contact with us, responded promptly to any questions we had, and kept us completely in the loop regarding everything that was being done. Linda was always very helpful and informative on really a daily basis. The quality of the work was absolutely top notch, and the company’s experience in building high quality and luxurious homes in the Lake Geneva area was always readily apparent. Lake home in Lake Geneva

We had John Engerman build our family lake home in Lake Geneva. We loved working with John and his team. John is a visionary and is very passionate about building beautiful homes. Linda was so patient, organized and knowledgeable. She walked us through every detail and kept us from getting overwhelmed. They were very responsive to our personal requests and input, and they always had great ideas and input.
