Custom Home Designed For Country Living

PROJECT OBJECTIVE

Perched along the shores of Geneva Lake, the Clock Tower House is an iconic custom-built residence that captures both elegance and charm. Originally designed as a second home for a family with adult children, it later became their full-time retreat. Engerman Contracting collaborated closely with the homeowners and their architect to create a timeless, iconic home, grand enough to fit the lake it sits on.

Design Vision

Inspired by a desire for a warm, inviting lake home that celebrates family, the Clock Tower House blends classic lakefront architecture with custom touches that reflect the homeowners’ personality and love for entertaining.

Challenges & Solutions

Building on the shores of Geneva Lake presented unique challenges. Due to the proximity to the water, a traditional basement was not feasible, so the home was constructed on a carefully engineered crawl space to protect against moisture and ensure long-term stability. Additionally, sourcing and installing the custom-made clock for the tower required meticulous planning and craftsmanship. Engerman Contracting’s expertise in custom lakefront construction ensured both structural integrity and the preservation of the home’s signature design features.

Standout Features

  • Iconic Clock Tower: Facing the lake, the tower is a showpiece visible from the interior loft, complete with exposed clock gears.
  • Custom Interior Details: Arched wood-paneled openings, beaded ceilings, curved cedar trim, multi-function shower trims, and detailed five-piece window casings.
  • Unique Spaces: 360° hallway with balustrade overlooking the great room, octagon screened porch with fireplace, veranda with patio doors, and a curved stair tower.
  • Exterior Charm: Cedar siding, colonnades, and swooping trim create a distinctive lakefront aesthetic.
