Lakefront Tuscan-Inspired Home on Geneva Lake, Wisconsin

Nestled on the picturesque shores of Geneva Lake, Wisconsin, this Tuscan-inspired custom home is a stunning testament to design and craftsmanship. Surrounded by mature trees, the property’s breathtaking lake views are framed by the natural landscape. Engerman Contracting, in collaboration with COBU Architects, embarked on a project that involved stripping the original structure down to its foundation. The site’s unique challenges, such as reusing the existing foundation and working with the steep slope, were embraced to create a home that seamlessly connects with the outdoors.

Every level of this 4-bedroom masterpiece captures the beauty of its surroundings, featuring expansive exterior terraces perfect for family gatherings and leisurely summer nights. A standout feature of the design is the tower, offering a serene, quiet space with unparalleled views of the lake.

Interior Design & Features

At the heart of the home lies a vaulted great room, with handcrafted decorative beams that conceal motorized window shades to manage the bright Wisconsin sun. A grand True Masonry fireplace anchors the space, providing warmth and charm for cold winter nights. Custom forged curved iron stairs lead to a walkout basement, offering its own covered patio and spectacular lake views, enhancing the connection to nature. The interior finishes include troweled plaster walls with integral color, adding an authentic Tuscan touch, while the bathroom showers showcase honed limestone for a refined look. The Lower Level floor is heated with in-slab radiant heat, ensuring comfort throughout.

Exceptional Design Details

The 11’ tall custom Mesquite entry door, flanked by hand-made leaded sidelights and a matching surround, creates an unforgettable first impression. A lightweight synthetic Red Clay Tile roof unifies the design elements, offering outstanding durability and minimal maintenance.

Design Visualization & Planning

During the design phase, 3D renderings allowed clients to visualize the final product, enabling informed decisions about materials, finishes, and color choices. Paired with early landscape design, these renderings gave the home a sense of place even before construction began.
